A lot of Linux enthusiasts have doubts about the suitability of Linux to use on a cell phone, mainly for security reasons. On the other hand, the Librem will be the most free and open source phone on the market. It would make sense to use it as a proving ground for ARM Redox. There is a downside of course, which is that the Librem will likely remain a niche device. However, I can’t deny the beauty of marrying a security-by-design microkernel to smartphone hardware designed for open source.
